Replace All Teeth with All-On-4 Dental Implants
What Are All-On-4 Dental Implants in Aberdeen?
As the name suggests, all-on-4 dental implants use just 4 dental implants in either the upper or lower jaw to support a set of new teeth.
All-on-4 dental implants are the best option if you have many missing teeth, lots of loose or decayed teeth or if you have no teeth at all. Many patients from St. Andrew’s, Banchory and Scotland are opting for all-on-4 dental implants to get a full set of new teeth.
Dental implants are made up of 3 parts: The titanium post which is gently embedded into your gum so that it fuses with your jawbone and acts as your new tooth root. An abutment then connects the dental implant to your new prosthetic tooth which is known as the crown.
All-on-4 dental implants are also sometimes called Same Day Smile and Same Day Teeth, and this is because we often fit all-on-4 dental implants and temporary teeth all in one day. Your new bespoke dental crowns will replace the temporary set at a later appointment.

What is the process for all-on-4 dental implants in Aberdeen?
At The Dental Implant Centre in Aberdeen, we see patients from all over Scotland including those from St. Andrew’s and Banchory. The process begins with a consultation.
Complimentary consultation
At your consultation, you will meet one of our leading dental implantologists who will discuss with you the process and benefits of all-on-4 dental implants in more detail. We will also discuss your oral and general medical history.
We will give your mouth and teeth a thorough assessment, and this will involve checking on any missing teeth as well as inspecting the condition of any other teeth that you have.
We will then give you x-rays and if it is deemed necessary, we may also take a CT scan of your mouth and jaw. This will help us to build a better picture of your oral health.
We will then create a bespoke all-on-4 dental implants treatment plan for you.
Dental implant surgery
Your dental implant surgery will take place at The Dental Implant Centre in Aberdeen. You will be given a local anaesthetic which will numb the area in your mouth, but you will remain awake. If you have any teeth which are in poor condition, they will be extracted at this stage.
Next, the 4 dental implants are gently inserted into either your upper or lower jaw. Once this is complete, a temporary bridge is attached which contains a set of new prosthetic teeth. When you feel ready, you can then leave The Dental Implant Centre with a new smile.
Healing period
Once the local anaesthetic has worn off, you may find that your gums and mouth are sore. You should take paracetamol to manage the pain, but you will be back to your usual routines within a day or two.
It is important to leave a period of healing of between 2 and 6 months. This not only allows your gums to recover, but essentially, ensures that your dental implants fuse to your jawbone. This process is known as osseointegration and is vital for the success of your dental implant process.
During this time, the team at The Dental Implant Centre Scotland will be busy working on creating your custom-made bridge containing your new set of teeth.
Fitting of your restoration
You will be invited back to The Dental Implant Centre in Aberdeen. Once your dental implantologist is happy that osseointegration has occurred, you will be fitted with your bespoke dental bridge and new teeth.
You will be shown how to clean and maintain your new teeth. This is important to ensure your dental implants have a long life.
